Pregnancy and Pilates

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy!  

**As with any exercise information, this is general in nature and your treating medical professional should be consulted before starting and/or continuing any exercise program/routine during pregnancy.**

 

Pilates is one of the safest and most effective forms of exercise during pregnancy.  It can help to:

  • Maintain your general fitness and strength
  • Prevent stiffness, aches and pains
  • Strengthen your Pelvic Floor and deep core adominals which will help in recovery post pregnancy

Pilates is safe for you and your baby as long as clearance has been given by your treating medical professional and pregnancy guidelines are followed.  Every woman is different and your body should always be listened to, however most women feel comfortable to continue Pilates right up until they give birth.  As your belly grows, our qualified instructors will modify your program for your comfort.
